Antique oak side chairs with severe water damage, result of a broken hot water pipe.
Water damaged finish, joints very loose, and the upholstered slip seats smell damp and moldy.
Restoration began by removing the seats and re-gluing the loose joints. The finish was removed and chairs sanded to remove the water stains.
A traditional stain was used to show off the quartersawn oak. Finished in lacquer and finally rubbed and waxed.
Photo taken during delivery shows completed project with reupholstered seats and new leather.
